Try Solo Travel
Travel for All Ages
“It seems the more places I see, the bigger I realize the world to be. The more I realize how relatively little I know of it, how many places I still have to go, how much more there is to learn. Maybe that’s enlightenment enough, to know that there is no final resting spot in the mind, no moment of smug clarity. Perhaps wisdom, at least for me, means realizing how small I am, and unwise, and how for I have yet to go.” -Anthony Bourdain

Don’t Let Going Solo Stop You
When I talk about my travels people often tell me they would love to travel, but they don’t know where to begin or they don’t feel brave enough to do it by themselves and to go alone. I hope to use this website to make travel more accessible for others and to encourage others to go live their best lives, especially when they are going solo. It’s easy to sit life out on the sidelines filling your mind with lists of “I can’ts”, but our life is finite and our time on earth is limited. Once you realize YOU CAN DO IT and that the hardest part is just getting started, you will be forever changed.
If I can do it you can do it too
My Journey
“My life didn’t please me, so I created my life” -Coco Chanel
I obtained my first passport at 40 and I was 41 the first time I used it. I have now been to 18 countries and counting; some more than one time. I have traveled in North America, Asia, Europe, South America, Central America, and the Caribbean. After watching a parent suffer medical catastrophe after medical catastrophe before they passed, I learned to live and during my 40’s each year for my birthday I have gotten out of the midwest cold and took a once in a lifetime trip to remind me to live. This year my birthday trip took me to Ecuador and to a dream location, The Galápagos Islands. Then a couple of months later I found myself in a situation where I had the opportunity to move to a tropical island. Since I don’t have kids and seeing the world has become my passion and is a non-negotiable in my life. I try to travel around 6 weeks per year. I don’t feel any guilt taking time off to get away because I am never taking off for a spouse’s business trip or because my child is sick or has a parent teacher conference. If I could create a life around my travels that would be the ultimate dream. Dying is the only commonality we truly have in this life. Life is short. How do you want to live it? I want to live it seeing the world, meeting interesting people, eating delicious food, and having enriching experiences.
